Who| Wyatt and Rebellion-y Folks Friends
What| Super Secret Rebellion Stuff Havin' a grand ol' time.
Where| The Speakeasy
When| Some appropriate but otherwise non-specific night.
Warnings/Notes| Nothing to see here Snow. (Gambling, drinking, possible language?)

Those you invited to play, please tag in the appropriate location. Wyatt will be operating as dealer/player and I will draw your hand from here. The game is 5-Stud Poker and here is a handy rulesheet for those of you who have never played (we will be using option two for betting). A hand ranking sheet is here.

Everyone else, feel free to treat it as a general party post and have fun with the general atmosphere - if your character's into this sort of thing.

For more details about how I hope to have this plot run, please see this post.

Wyatt certainly hadn't intended for it happen this way - for this simple way to pass the time to become such a big thing, but he couldn't say that he minded.

A chance to do his part, to help, and to spend an evening with good people and good drink doing something he enjoyed?

That was just dandy in his book.

Smirking to himself, he shuffled his deck idly and waited for the players to arrive.

On the table face up in front of Cinna was the Ace of Diamonds. If there was any man who had perfected the poker face, it was Cinna. He seemed perfectly relaxed and comfortable as he sat back in his chair.

"I say we start with something small, hm? For those who might be new to the game? I bet ten." He moved to slide his chip forward and looked over to the next one. It was Howard, the kid he had met here before and worried over.

Howard shrugs. He's got a pretty good poker face, although he's using it less on this hand and more on trying to decide whether or not to try and cheat. His grandmother taught him how back in the day, but he doubts Wyatt would take kindly to it. Or Danny. And the Roman guy is, let's face it flat-out scary.

So he decides to stay honest, for now.

"I'm in." He chips in a ten-piece, looking at Cinna with an inscrutable glance. "Must be a little weird, playing with people you watch die all the time. You know from the tapes of the last arena if we're liars or not."

He shrugs again and looks to Maximus.

"In."

His face is almost entirely blank as he tosses the ten-piece on the table. The money matters little to him, and though Wyatt already taught him the rules of the game, cards still aren't something he's entirely used to.

He came mostly for the company.

Danny had his best "I don't care about you" interrogation face on as he surveyed the cards.

Nothing spectacular on his end, but it was at least worth hanging around to see what else came up.

"In"

Cinna watched Howard as the others put in their bids. "I've grown up watching the Games," he pointed out. It was one of those standard answers that didn't really share any of his opinions on the matter. He meant that he was used to watching people die, but that hadn't made anything about the Games easy for him. "Before this Quell when Tributes died they didn't come back so I guess always strange to talk to people I've watched in the Arena.

"I wouldn't say what I watched in the Games shows me as much about you as you'd think. Take Katniss, for example. I know her much better for the way we act when we're alone than I do for anything she did in the Arena." Except for the berries, perhaps. The berries had said so much about the power that she held, even more because she was totally unaware of the full impact of the statement she had made.

When his Ace was flipped over he sat back a bit. "Are you asking me if I'm taken, Marshal?" he replied, purposely ignoring that the question was only about the card game. Always better to disarm by making some kind of flamboyant comment. He smiled at Wyatt and the corners of it were a little flirtatious.

"I'd think seeing people at their worst shows you what they're really like." He shrugs.

He glances again at his faceup two of diamonds, then at the faces around him, just as good as he'd expect at being unreadable. Which is pretty good, that is. He leans back in his chair and decides to stay in.

Howard raises his eyebrows and makes a point to scoot his chair away from Cinna. "Get a room, guys."

Maximus allowed himself a small smirk at the 'lady in your pocket' comment, and listened quietly until he felt it appropriate to speak up.

"Seeing people at their worst only proves what they are at their worst," He said in a low, gruff voice. "Any man can be made a barbarian with the right stimulus. And many barbarians can be made into heroes, if given the chance."

Though some men, he thought quietly to himself, would always be monsters.
